LUMS Women in Computing (LWiC) is excited to announce that the first-ever Cybersecurity Capture the Flag<\/strong> (CTF) event is now on the 15th<\/sup> of July 2023<\/strong>, at the Lahore University of Management Sciences<\/strong>. CTF is an international event, and we are proud to introduce it in Pakistan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

LWiC is a society that aspires to provide school-going girls with a platform to become acquainted with computer science and has collaborated with the Recypher team at LUMS<\/strong>, headed by one of the leading faculty, Dr. Mobin Javed<\/strong>, to bring out this wonderful initiative. CTF is a one-day event<\/strong> filled with numerous assisted lab exercises to help students get accustomed to the exciting area of <\/strong>cybersecurity<\/strong>. Instead of competing with each other, students will get an entire day to learn such ideas. This will also cover the importance of cybersecurity, aimed at raising awareness of safe security practices. All participants will receive a certificate acknowledging their active participation at the end of the event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

All interested students are required to register for the event through https:\/\/register.lums.edu.pk\/<\/a><\/strong> and pay the registration fee of Rs. 1000 by 13th July 2023<\/strong>. A detailed plan can be found in the attached event booklet. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is a one-of-a-kind learning opportunity for students to get acquainted with concepts of cybersecurity, get involved in incredible problem-solving and reverse engineering exercises, and get a glimpse of the exciting domains of CS at LUMS!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
